Juwan Moody - 2012

Juwan Moody is a talented, sharpshooting point guard, who led Westwind Prep Academy to a State Championship in 2011. In the 2010-11 season, Juwan averaged 14.8ppg, 8.7 assists/game, and 2.8 steals/game. Juwan is a skilled player who sees the court well and sets up his teammates to be successful. What separates Juwan from others at the same position is his impressive range on his shot. Juwan is a consistent shooter up to 24 feet, and that range helps him spread defenses out, which makes him more dangerous when attacking the key, and distributing to his teammates. Juwan is fast, smart, and talented. He doesn't make mental errors, and is a high percentage free throw shooter.

Juwan needs to improve in a few areas to become a ready contributor to a mid-high major division one program. First of all, Juwan needs to consistently have a high motor. His energy level seems to turn on and off with the flow of the game. With his speed, he needs to work on being the one who controls the tempo. Juwan also needs to learn to be more patient offensively. He currently has a tendency to put up a shot whenever offenses break down. Finally, Juwan needs to be more assertive at the end of close games. He needs to develop the approach that the ball should always be in his hands with the game on the line.

Juwan has signed with North Carolina Central University after recieving scholarship offers and/or interest from Boise State, Idaho State, SMU, Jacksonville, Farleigh Dickenson, and Pepperdine.

Richard Peters - 2012

Measuring 6'10 and 250lbs, Richard Peters has the ability to have an effect on a basketball game in a variety of ways. His size and length give him the ability to block shots inside, while his low post moves and soft shooting touch allows him to get opponents post players both away from the basket, and into foul trouble. Richard's best quality may be that he is a great communicator on the floor. Richard is always helping his teammates, and calling out directions from his post position. Richard also can shoot with some consistency out to the free throw line extended and can finish in transition. Richard prefers to catch on the block and face the basket, and his face up game is tough to stop when Big Rich is going strong.

Richard needs to improve with his back to the basket a little more, as I'd like to see him develop a quicker and more reliable move without facing up. Richard also needs to continue to work on his body and his endurance so he can run the floor better than he does at this time. Richard also needs to become a little bit more consistent with his effort rebounding. When he wants to, nobody can keep Big Rich from coming down with a crucial rebound, but at times, he seems less inspired.

Overall, Richard Peters is a long, talkative player who has the size and skills to excel at the next level.

Richard has decided to commit to Washington State. I expect Richard to contribute to the Cougars by rebounding and playing spurts of physical basketball against other Pac-12 bigs. Arturs Bremers - 2012

Arturs Bremers is a division 1 shooter with long range consistency. He is a tough defender, and is not afraid to mix it up when rebounding against bigs. At 6'3, Arturs has the size to hold his own against larger defenders, and has a quick release to his shot that enables him to score against longer defenders. Last season, Arturs shot 40% from the 3 and 78% from the free throw line for Westwind Prep's State Championship team. He spent this summer as a captain for Latvia's U19 National team, which finished 10th in the World Championships (USA finished 5th). This season, Arturs has averaged 16ppg for Westwind's Post Grad team. He hit more than 8 3's per game 4 times this season, and is a reliable, consistent shooter that can help a lot of division 1 teams. In today's game, where a lot of zone is played, Arturs is a true zone buster. A lot of guys can shoot, it is Arturs' toughness, physicality, high basketball IQ, leadership ability, work ethic, and ability to score in a variety of ways that set him apart from others of similar size and athleticism.

To fulfill his potential at a division one school, Arturs must get quicker. While he holds his own against guards his own size, at times, Arturs has some difficulty keeping smaller, quicker guards in front of him. While he runs the floor well, he is often at one speed and needs to learn how to change speeds and direction a little bit better. While Arturs is great handling the ball going right, his handle with his left through contact needed to improve this season. It has. With Arturs' superior work ethic, I expect him to be a steal for a low to mid major division 1 school

Arturs has committed to North Carolina A&T, after recieving interest from Coastal Carolina, Wofford, NJIT, Hartford and other schools. Demarquise "Q" Johnson - 2012

Demarquise Johnson is a special talent. As a 6'6 shooting guard, with a body that reminds many of a young Paul Pierce, Que led Westwind Prep Academy in scoring on the way to the 2011 State Championship. In the 2011 Season, Que averaged 20.8 points per game, shot 44% from 3, and 78% from the line. What makes Que special is his combination of size, athleticism, and his scoring ability. Que can score in a variety of ways, but his range and consistency on his shot separates him from others the same size. Que changes speeds well, and finishes above the rim.
Que needs to become a better defender. He has all the skills to become a lock down guy, but he needs to put in the work and commit to staying low on his man, keeping quick guards in front of him, and communicating on defense with his teammates. If Que could develop that shut-down mindset, and take more pride in stopping his opponnents, then he could contribute to his college program that much quicker. Que could also improve his rebounding technique and do a better job setting up his teammates.
This summer, Que played for Team Eleate, and he took another big step in his development. Que has been working hard so far this season, and is improving on both sides of the ball. On 10/22/11, Que verbally committed to Washington State. He chose WSU over Washington, Gonzaga, and UNLV.
